Hi, I posted a few weeks back regarding the Mk7 I had on order well I've had it a few weeks now and put 1800 miles on it and I am suprised how pleased I am with it,
weired statement you think but having come from a D40 Navara (with all the bells and whistles) and having driven a collegues Mk6 and not been overly chuffed with the
ride and autobox I have to say the new one is a whole lot better.

Compared to the Nissan -
Nothing squeaks or rattles
Proper leather seats
Feels like German build quality not Kia sportage
Ride, steering and braking ^ as above

Had a trip down to Wales and back in it (7hrs) averaged 36 MPG with four adults on board - not bad and all mentioned how it was more comfy than the Nav.

Now for some niggles..

What no heated mirrors??
whres the map reading lights or glasses holder??
And why can't I have my lunch with the door open and the radio on without beep..beep..beep
Thats all and not an expensive list of extras so come on Toyota get with the 21st Century!!

Oh any one know which connector disconects the seatbelt buzzer as I spend a lot of time on farm tracks jumping in/out from field to field?

Nice lookin truck mate http://www.hpoc.co.uk/community/public/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif.
The Mk 7's are certainly heading the way of Tundra's from the front. Just a few more chrome layers!

Welcome to the club mate

To turn off the bleep for key in ignition do the following

under the steering wheel colum is 1 screw holding the plastic on, remove it

then turn the steering wheel 1/4 turn left, remove thr screw behind the wheel, repeat for 1/4 turn tot he right

remove lower column cover

on the ignition barrel is a white plug with only 2 wires, one is green and 1 a cream / beige colour from memoery

unplug this, and replace the column cover.

i have found no issues after doing this as it is just a loop wire that detects key in lock barrell

the headlights etc still beep

And to do the seat belt do:-

(1)turn the car on , do not start engine(leave you foot off the
brake).cycle your trip reset knob until you it reads odo. turn the
ignition back off. wait a couple of seconds

(2) make sure seat belt is not fastened

(3)turn the ignition back on ,do not start the car(leave your foot off
the brake) as soon as you see everything light up, press and hold the
trip reset knob and do a long 12 second count.

(4)keep your finger on the trip reset knob. fasten your seat belt, as
soon as you fasten your seat belt, you should see the odo display go
from xxxx ks to "b-on". at that time take your finger off the trip
reset
knob and press it again. it should cycle to "b-off". you should be all
set turn the ignition off and unfasten your seat belt.

You might have to do this a few times to hit it before the 12 sec count

Strange you haven't got cup holders...mine are under the A/C vents next to the doors and my map lights also have sunglasses holder???

Glad you're pleased with the new truck mate, love the look of it! 36mpg from an auto sounds a massive improvement from the mk6 auto too
